Recently on July 7th, the WMCO hosted a Virtual Case Study/Plant Focus Tour of Tri-Coat Wood Finishing. The event featured a look into how owner Andrew Bauman successfully implemented a significant process improvement, boosted productivity, and optimized labor utilizing a methodology termed QRM.
The virtual tour /case study event began with Lignum Consulting Partner Sepp Gmeiner in dialogue with Bauman on how he achieved his success at his facility and the challenges overcome to reach his vision of workflow. Following the dialogue, the event carried forward with a walk-through of Tri-Coat Wood Finishing’s facility. The case study/ virtual tour wrapped up afterward with group discussions from manufacturing members of the WMCO and summaries on what members observed and had feedback on.
Additional 25-minute bonus footage, including interviews of cell leaders at Tri-Coat Wood Finishing, is now available to watch on-demand, including the full virtual case study/ plant tour event when logged into the WMCO website in the members area.
One day earlier, on July 6th, the WMCO expedited a roundtable event centered on the ongoing challenges supply chains are experiencing and the effects they are having with manufacturers.
Both manufacturers and suppliers were on hand to share their perspective on how pricing is being managed and what methods companies are doing to combat the price volatility in the market.
Among themes that emerged from the roundtable discussion were: contract price structures and clauses, cost inputs and influences, price surcharges, and the impact these factors have on sales and B2B relationships.
Following this event, the WMCO sent out a survey to our members about costs, prices, forecasts, and the supply chain impacts. If you have not yet answered the survey, make sure your voice is heard. Your answers will remain anonymous, and the results of the survey will be shared at a follow-up August 12th live forum discussion. In addition, the August 12th event will include more time for networking and group discussions.
