WMCO’s November event calendar was full following a double feature events on Canadian export and wrapping up the 5 Part Digital Marketing Series.
Kicking off November for many wood manufacturers was the Wood Technology Days (WTD) hosted by the CWMDA Nov 2nd through 6th.
For wood companies looking forward with business goals into the next 1-5 years, the recent Export Roundtable Events on November 18th & 25th featured an introduction to the New Exporters to Border States (NEBS) program as well as the WMCO’s soon to be launched Wood Cohort Trade Accelerator Program (TAP).
Starting off the event was Program Manager for TAP, Noor Harbi and Cecilia Turnbull, Program Coordinator for Nov 18th and returning on Nov 25th to describe the 5 week Wood Cohort Trade Accelerator Program beginning January 24th, 2022. The program is being created in conjunction with the WMCO and Toronto Board of Trade. It will bring together the CKCA as well as AWMAC members to participate and learn from industry professionals on the strategic planning for the export strategy including taxation & legal; trade resources; finance; mentoring and much more.
The program fee is $495, but this fee is waived when wood companies use the referral program with Lucci Mihet of EDC. Contact the WMCO for details.
Following Harbi’s presentation, Stephen Karpenko continued with an introduction to a number of services the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation & Trade (MEDJCT), in particular the New Exporters into Border States (NEBS) an ‘In-market’ program. The MEDJCT has 16 global and Trade & Investment offices for companies to be introduced to as they develop their export experience.

January 24th, 2022 will be the start of the WMCO’s Wood Cohort TAP Program. The program is 5 weeks long held 1-2 times per week.
