On December 11th, 2024, members of the wood manufacturing industry came together at Taurus Craco in Brampton for WMCO’s highly anticipated Quarterly Networking Event. This event provided an invaluable platform for attendees to connect, share insights, and explore innovative solutions to drive growth and efficiency in their businesses.

The event kicked off with an interactive live polling session led by Mike Baker. Attendees had the opportunity to share their priorities, vote on key topics, and provide feedback to shape WMCO’s future programs. This collaborative session set the tone for the day, ensuring that member interests remained front and center.

Following the live polling, attendees participated in a Spray Finishing Panel Discussion. Industry experts and suppliers addressed critical topics such as water-based coatings, lacquer, and polyurethane applications, as well as the benefits and challenges of automated lines versus hand spraying. The discussion provided actionable strategies to enhance finishing processes and inspired participants to rethink their approaches.

The afternoon continued with Dave Hudon from Innergy, who delivered an insightful session on optimizing digital integration projects. Covering key follow-up steps, common mistakes, and practical strategies, Dave’s session empowered attendees to maximize their investments in digital tools and streamline operations effectively.

Another key highlight was the Round 3 update of the FedDev Digital Integration Project, which aims to support manufacturers in adopting digital technologies. Attendees gained a clear understanding of the application process, funding opportunities, and the transformative potential of this program, leaving them eager to explore new possibilities.

A special highlight of the event was the live machinery demonstrations run by Taurus Craco. Members observed cutting-edge technology in action, showcasing how advanced equipment can revolutionize manufacturing processes and improve productivity.

Throughout the event, attendees had plenty of opportunities to connect with peers. The catered lunch, sponsored by Inac Services, Millbank Family Furniture, Royal City Paints, and Richelieu, provided a relaxed setting for conversations, idea-sharing, and building valuable industry relationships.

Thank You to Our Sponsors and Hosts

WMCO extends heartfelt thanks to our sponsors—Inac Services, Millbank Family Furniture, Royal City Paints, and Richelieu—for their generous support in making this event a success. A special thank you to Taurus Craco for hosting and providing an exceptional venue and live demonstrations for our members.
