On September 23rd, the WMCO brought forward Part 2 of our export roundtable series, which included guest presenter Maggie Weaver Principal of Shaftesbury associates.
The event featured a detailed review of Strategyzer’s Business Model Canvas (BMC) in the first half of the event. The canvas is an essential first step for companies that are going to be working with trade experts. Often, in group settings like the Trade Accelerator Program (TAP), the BMC enables trade experts to understand the goals of a business and the objectives that they are pursuing. It is also a valuable self-assessment tool to define what a company wants to achieve and the barriers set before it.
The second half of the event featured Weaver explaining to the manufacturers and associates attending the next step in an export plan as they transition their focus from an export strategy to developing the plan during this segment Weaver highlighted key economic indicators and resources that help companies refine their target market.
The resources presented at this event are an important component in an export plan particularly for companies interested in TAP. Members of the WMCO interested in exporting can look forward to taking part in TAP at the beginning of the new year when the WMCO rolls out a cohort initiative for this.
