Unlocking the Future: Highlights from the December 6th Quarterly Networking Event – AI Integration, Digital Adoption, and Economic Forecasting in Focus!

 

The December 6th Quarterly Networking Event was well received and attended by over 50 participants. The day started with a networking lunch, followed by a presentation on AI in the Wood Industry. Darrell Keezer, CEO of Candybox Marketing, and Mark Corker, President of MTech Hub and Seredex spoke on AI integration and how to use AI as a tool to apply towards improving value stream and manufacturing processes. Darrell passed on an offer to the cluster regarding the Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) and his firm. Candybox Marketing helps companies within the value-added wood industry with digital adoption plans regarding growth, marketing, and even AI adoption. After a brief opportunity to network with fellow attendees, Mike Baker, CEO of WMCO provided a FedDev Digital Transformation Project update and led a discussion on digital transformation initiatives. The current funding project is now rolled out, with 40 spots remaining over the next 2.5 years.

 
 

Our last presenter was Ross Prusakowski, Director of the Economic & Political Intelligence Centre at Export Development Canada presenting an Economic Forecast. Ross provided a detailed analysis of current economic conditions and factors impacting the near and distant future. Following the presentation, we had a lively discussion on economic trends and forecasts. The event ended with an opportunity to further network in a causal setting at a nearby lounge.
