When BWA Associate members collaborate to provide valuable information for members, it demonstrates the true value of real clustering!
The June 19th, 2013 event at the Walkerton Clean Water Centre saw over 50 in attendance and was value-packed for members with five BWA Associate members working together to educate the members on subjects important to successfully running their businesses.
During updates on BWA Focus Groups and projects such as the Dubai export project, Dennis McGlynn of South Bruce Flooring provided a candid report of his experience in Dubai as a local manufacturer. Members are now in the middle of preparing quotes for large RFQs as a result of this project.
The web configurator, and Yield Optimization and Finishing projects were updated by Sepp Gmeiner. The Yield Optimization project is about to start, and any company interested in reducing the wood waste and scrap from their processes (who isn’t??)are encouraged to participate. The group then learned about the state of the art dust collection from MacDonald Steel and Taurus Craco, and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) by Seredex, Syspro, and Planit Canada together.

It was very obvious that despite the fact these are competing companies in their respective markets, it was most important to provide the best information possible to members on these subjects. Q&A was facilitated with these companies answering questions together and proving that they are all professionals in their areas of expertise.
