Georgian College offers the option of an unpaid work placement to meet course requirements during the student’s fourth semester of study. Students will be seeking placement opportunities during the winter of 2014. They will be offering their skills and assistance to organizations for approximately 64 – 70+ hours during the period of January 20 – April 4, 2014. Hours of work should be arranged to meet the organization’s needs, while not conflicting with the student’s class hours at Georgian College. It is anticipated that students will have no scheduled classes on Fridays this coming winter, to facilitate their placement opportunities. Please note that the Government of Ontario covers WSIB for qualifying unpaid work placements with employers who have WSIB coverage, and also covers private insurance for placements with employers who are not required to have coverage under the WSIA.
