October 28th, 2020 saw the BWA host our Export Round Table Event that included BWA members as well as presentations from Gwenaële Montagner Senior Director, International Trade Development and Syed Sameer S. Ahmed, Trade Commissioner of Global Affairs Canada.
The event opened with Montagner sharing valuable information on the Trade Accelerator Program (T.A.P.) and how the program serves to assist manufacturers with export development including some rather surprising data about how Canada is uniquely positioned to benefit from exporting.

Members also got a chance to have more focused small group discussions by using “break-out rooms” for the event. This feature may be used more in the near future to allow members to network better, connect in smaller more personal conversations and have those one-on-one conversations outside the “main room” video platform most have become accustomed to from this past year.

Following the Montagner’s presentation and breakout sessions, the event continued forward with Ahmed providing information about the powerful network and supportive services of Global Affairs Canada Trade Commissioner Services and the long-standing history it has helped Canadian businesses.
Wrapping up the Roundtable was more open discussion and Q&A from members as well as feedback from members who have engaged in export services and how it has impacted their business.
