On March 10, the Wood Manufacturing Cluster of Ontario (WMCO), in collaboration with the City of Brampton and Mayor Patrick Brown, successfully hosted a Wood Manufacturing Day at Woodlore International’s facility in Brampton.
The event brought together approximately 40 manufacturers, industry partners, and stakeholders for a focused morning of plant tours, peer discussion, and networking. Attendees had the opportunity to experience Woodlore’s production environment firsthand, gaining practical insight into workflow organization, automation, and operational efficiency within a modern wood manufacturing setting.
The event also underscored the importance of strong alignment between wood manufacturers and municipal economic development teams. Engagement with the City of Brampton’s Economic Development Office highlighted how collaboration can unlock tangible benefits—from access to programs and incentives, to support with workforce development, sustainability initiatives, and long-term growth planning.
For manufacturers, this connection provides greater visibility into available resources and strategic direction, while for the city, it strengthens the local industrial base, supports job creation, and reinforces Brampton’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing. The strong turnout and level of engagement reinforced the value of these partnerships and WMCO’s role in facilitating meaningful connections across the sector.
