Making changes to current administrative practices can fee up time working ON your business instead of IN it!
On Oct 22, 2015, the 4th BWA Learning Series session took place this year. Members were surveyed topics of interest, and increasing sales and business development was high on the list.
Shawn Casemore of Casemore and Associates provided a full day of training for 15 BWA companies. Many were owners of their businesses, and it was a nice mix of furniture, cabinetmaking, flooring, and millwork companies.
Shawn helped members take a critical look at how they spend their time, how they can empower their employees more, apply lean principles to their administrative processes, and create an action plan for change by the time the session was over. Newly created available time can allow members to spend more time on business development.
Another valuable aspect of the session included peer-to-peer discussions on these themes in smaller break-out groups. This created an environment where members could learn from each other, share ideas and pursue answers to common questions and problems when trying to run their businesses.
Many members who were not able to make it to the session requested that we run it again, so watch for it again in the coming months!
