The Wood Manufacturing Cluster of Ontario (WMCO) is proud to host the Trade Accelerator Program (TAP), facilitated by the Toronto Region Board of Trade and the World Trade Centre Toronto.

This dynamic, hands-on workshop provides companies with access to Canada’s top exporting advisors, resources and contacts, giving them the training and support they need to become successful international traders in their specific business sector.

Exporting can be perceived as daunting, costly, and time consuming, leaving many business owners limited in terms of how much they can grow. The Trade Accelerator Program is an award-winning, innovative program, designed to accelerate the strategic development of your business for expansion into international markets.

Starting January 24, 2022 this Wood Industry Cohort will be delivered virtually over 5 weekly half-day sessions, concluding with a mentoring session.

Mentoring

At the end of each day, participants will be encouraged to start completing their Export Plan related to the topics presented. Once the workshops and the export plan are completed, the Mentoring Sessions will take place, where your export plan is reviewed by the mentors in 1-on-1 setting.

HOW TO APPLY:

Companies can participate in TAP via partner nomination or direct application. All applications are reviewed by the TAP team to ensure the program is a good fit and allow participants to maximize its benefits. All applications will be considered on eligibility guidelines listed below and assessed on their merits.

The program fee is $5,000 per company; however, generous support from our partners will allow us to reduce this fee to $495 +HST.

ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES:
Companies that meet the profile are welcome to apply for the program by submitting the following electronic application form below.

  • Established Ontario-based SME’s (TAP is not for start-up companies with little or no capital)
  • Has been operating for at least 2 years and receiving revenue for its product or service
  • Minimum revenue $500k (Flexible with this requirement)
  • Are currently exporting or are serious about committing resources to the exporting effort
  • Participation by C-level Executives is required
  • Commitment to carry through with the program, attend all sessions, and complete a written export plan

Once your application is approved, an invoice will be sent to you via email.
