Cannabis Policy and Procedures in the Workplace: Moving Forward to Ensure Workplace Safety:
With the new legalization of cannabis, the question remains how do employers ensure a safe workplace when it comes to the issue of impairment. What is impairment and its’ symptoms? How do you begin to develop an impairment policy and what should it include? What are your rights as an employer? Chris Moore from the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety will provide an overview for employers with some take-aways on how to begin to tackle this issue.

Employee Culture and Motivation: How to Keep and Develop the People You Have so Your Business Thrives:
Every BWA member company is trying to develop their people, so they retain them and keep them motivated to do their best every day to help the company thrive. Developing a culture that does this is key to your business success. BWA members have asked us to help shed light on how to motivate employees and develop their culture to support their growth. Brad Cairns from the Center of Lean Learning and Andrew Wall of Sandler Training Milton will provide a collaborative presentation to members to help them begin to develop their employee culture!

ERP Technology for Industry 4.0:
The connected factory and the utilization of technology to move your business forward is key to the future of BWA members. Enterprise Resource Planning is one tool that companies are adopting across all manufacturing sectors to evolve to the connected factory: 4.0. How does it link to your design software? How can it help with controlling costs? What is the cost/benefit to adopting it? Should you have a custom ERP designed to your business processes, or should you adopt an existing software package? Ewald Becker of Planit Canada and Mark Corker of Seredex will provide a non-partisan, information-driven, collaborative presentation to help BWA members understand what ERP is and how they can move forward with adopting it.
